What is unique to your role at The Friends of Israel?
I have the privilege of mobilizing my fellow students at The Master’s University for Jewish ministry. I lead Israel-focused Bible studies and prayer meetings, distribute FOI resources, and share about my passion for Jewish ministry and my service with FOI. I host annual Purim and Hanukkah parties to help students experience Jewish culture. I am beginning an "I Love Israel" Club this year to centralize these activities and better equip students for ministering to the Jewish people.
What inspires you most to do what you do for FOI?
Throughout history, no other people have faced as much hatred as the Jewish people. God’s Word shows that is no accident–they are His Chosen People. I want to stand with them and provide comfort and compassion. I also seek to minister to them with Jesus’ love, since most Jewish people do not know Jesus as their Messiah. Sadly, most Christians do not understand the Jewish people’s relationship and place in God’s plan. I desire to help my brothers and sisters in Christ cultivate a love for the Jewish people and a desire to serve them.
What is one bit of wisdom you have for those who want to share the love of the Messiah with others?
Seek the Lord’s wisdom. The gospel will offend sinners, but it needs to be shared in a loving, gracious way. Never forget that sharing the gospel is not academic or scientific; it is sharing the truth with those who are lost. Don’t just talk to people; love and truly care for them.
What Scripture compels you the most to do what you do?
Lamentations 1:12, 17: “Is it nothing to you, all you who pass by? Behold and see if there is any sorrow like my sorrow, which has been brought on me, which the LORD has inflicted in the day of His fierce anger. ... Zion spreads out her hands, but no one comforts her; the LORD has commanded concerning Jacob that those around him become his adversaries; Jerusalem has become an unclean thing among them.”
Who is the most influential person in your spiritual life?
My mother has raised me in the fear of the Lord and discipled and equipped me in God’s Word. She has impacted my spiritual life like no one else has.
What books have you read (other than the Bible) that have impacted your spiritual life most?
Zvi: The Miraculous Story of Triumph Over the Holocaust by Elwood McQuaid. This book has greatly strengthened my conviction that God is sovereignly preserving the Jewish people.
