FOI Equip Manager

What is unique to your role at The Friends of Israel?

Christians and churches across America need to be equipped with biblical truth and the tools to reach their Jewish friends. As FOI Equip manager, I have the opportunity to equip believers in these areas through teaching and training. FOI Equip (foiequip.org) is both an online and in-person program that offers classes, internships, trips, and volunteer opportunities that allow believers to both learn and serve. I oversee different aspects of this ministry, specifically the FOI Equip Online classes, which allow experienced teachers to equip students as they study the Bible and learn more about the Jewish community.

I also am blessed to represent The Friends of Israel in churches in the Dallas area, teaching, connecting, and building relationships.

What inspires you most to do what you do for FOI?

Two alarming trends inspire me:

1. Antisemitism, even in churches, has been on the rise for many years now.
2. Biblical truth is becoming more and more foreign to both believers and unbelievers.

I believe the Lord is calling me to respond to these alarming trends. If you have a heart for God’s Word and His Chosen People, I would love for you to consider supporting me in any way you can.

What is one bit of wisdom you have for those who want to share the love of the Messiah with others?

I could mention so many resources or tools, including FOI Equip, but I just want to highlight the importance of prayer. I believe God can work, even if we make a mistake or fail completely! Why don’t we ask Him to work in the lives of our friends? Ask Him to give us opportunities? Ask Him to give us boldness and the words to say? Bring it to the Lord in the morning, at night, and right when you see an opportunity.

What Scripture compels you the most to do what you do?

Preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching (2 Tim. 4:2).

This is such a great reminder. After Paul confirms the inspiration of all Scripture in 2 Timothy 3:16, he describes the logical conclusion: “Preach the word.” It’s so simple. Then he describes what that ministry should look like. A ministry of patience, teaching, and encouragement. I pray I can follow Paul’s call to preach the Word faithfully, and assist others in teaching the Word to both an in-person and online audience.

Brothers, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for them [Israel] is that they may be saved (Rom. 10:1).

If this was Paul’s innermost desire, that Israel would be saved, then I consider it an essential mission to reach God’s Chosen People.

Who is the most influential person in your spiritual life?

My pastor, Jeff Dickson, in his faithfulness; Chris Katulka, in his love for the Jewish people; and my grandpa, Scott Moffat, in His commitment to the Word.

What books have you read (other than the Bible) that have impacted your spiritual life most?

Dispensationalism by Charles Ryrie, Deeper by Dane Ortlund, and Dare 2 Share: A Field Guide by Greg Stier.
