Yuri & Amy Rogaev (Canada)

Field Ministries Representative / Edmonton, Alberta, Canada

What is unique to your role at The Friends of Israel?

I am blessed to be able to speak Russian and Chinese. I would love to bring biblical theological education on Israel to these communities. I'm blessed to live in a very Jewish community, with a local Synagogue and a Torah school!

What inspires you most to do what you do for FOI?

The Hebrew word "Emmanuel", which means "God with us" reminds me always that everything I do, is with the Lord.

What is one bit of wisdom you have for those who want to share the love of the Messiah with others?

The most Jewish thing that can be done is to follow Messiah Jesus, so don't be afraid to talk about the New Testament, for it perfectly fits into Jewish culture!

What Scripture compels you the most to do what you do?

1 Samuel 30:6: "but David encouraged himself in the Lord his God." There will come a time where you will be all alone, it is here that we must seek satisfaction in the Lord!

What books have you read (other than the Bible) that have impacted your spiritual life most?

"By Searching" by Isobel Kuhn, a Canadian who found faith in Jesus, and went to China. She laid a firm foundation, that 50 years later I too found faith in China.

Who is the most influential person in your spiritual life?

Every staff member at "Frontier School of the Bible" in LaGrange, WY. I would not be the person I am today without them.
